Adani Green Energy Sets New National Record with Over 15,000 MW Renewable Energy Capacity

Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), the renewable energy arm of the Adani Group, has achieved a landmark milestone by crossing 15,000 megawatts (MW) of installed renewable energy capacity, making it the largest renewable energy company in India. This milestone was reached after the commissioning of a 126 MW solar power plant in Rajasthan.

With this achievement, AGEL not only solidifies its position as India’s leading renewable energy developer but also stands among the world’s top renewable companies. The company’s total operational portfolio now stands at 15,250 MW, including solar, wind, and hybrid projects.

This level of renewable capacity is enough to power over 5.8 million homes and displaces approximately 31 million tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. It supports India's broader clean energy goals and its transition toward a low-carbon economy.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, said that the achievement of 15,000 MW is a significant step toward the company’s target of 45,000 MW by 2030. He emphasized that AGEL is committed to enabling India’s energy transition and its ambition of becoming energy independent by 2047. He added that AGEL’s rapid scaling and consistent execution reflect its global leadership in green energy.

AGEL’s current renewable energy mix includes:

  • 7,393 MW of solar energy

  • 5,104 MW of wind energy

  • 2,753 MW of wind-solar hybrid energy

The company is known for developing and operating several pioneering energy projects. Notably, it operates the world's largest wind-solar hybrid cluster in Rajasthan with a total capacity of 2,140 MW. It is also developing the world’s largest renewable energy park in Khavda, Gujarat. This mega-park, once fully developed, will have a generation capacity of 30,000 MW, placing it among the largest green energy projects globally.

AGEL’s strategy relies on a combination of technological innovation and analytics-driven asset management to maintain high performance across its operational portfolio. The company has also played a major role in employment generation, creating over 54,000 green jobs at peak construction phases.

According to the company, it has already added 2,848 MW of capacity in the current calendar year as of June 2025. This reflects strong project execution capabilities and momentum toward its long-term goal.

AGEL’s project execution highlights include:

  • Asia’s largest wind-solar hybrid farm in Rajasthan

  • India’s first and the world’s largest renewable energy park in Khavda, Gujarat

  • Continued deployment of advanced technologies and data-driven operations and maintenance systems

  • A commitment to building a greener, sustainable future while driving economic growth

The company has also released a progress chart that shows its current installed capacity at 15,250 MW, with a long-term target of 45,000 MW by 2030.

Adani Green Energy Limited continues to play a critical role in shaping the future of renewable energy in India and beyond, aligning with global climate goals and supporting India’s ambitious net-zero vision.
