Eicher Motors Commercial Vehicle Sales Up 27% YoY In April Month To 6,846 Units;Exports Up 29.2%

In a strong start to the new financial year, Eicher motors has reported a significant jump in its sales volumes for April 2025. The company sold a total of 6,846 units, including Eicher and Volvo trucks and buses, marking a robust growth of 27.3% compared to April 2024, when it sold 5,377 units.

Focusing on the Eicher brand, the company sold 6,717 units in April 2025, up from 5,254 units a year earlier, registering a healthy growth of 27.8%. Within the domestic segment of Eicher trucks and buses, all sub-categories witnessed positive growth. The SCV/LMD (small commercial vehicles/light and medium-duty) trucks below 18.5 tonnes recorded a 21.5% increase in sales, with 2,750 units sold compared to 2,264 units in April last year. Meanwhile, the heavy-duty (HD) trucks segment, which includes vehicles of 18.5 tonnes and above, saw a modest rise of 4.4%, selling 1,319 units this April versus 1,263 units the previous year.

The most notable performance came from the bus segment. The LMD bus category recorded a sharp rise of 61.6%, with sales jumping to 2,025 units from 1,253 units in April 2024. The HD bus category also performed well, witnessing a growth of 38.1%, selling 163 units compared to 118 units in the same month last year. Overall, Eicher’s domestic sales stood at 6,257 units in April 2025, growing 27.7% year-on-year.

In the export market, Eicher achieved a 29.2% increase, with total exports climbing to 460 units from 356 units in April 2024. Within exports, LMD trucks led the surge with an impressive growth of 117.5%, selling 298 units compared to 137 units last year. HD exports also improved by 52%, going from 25 to 38 units. However, the bus segment in exports experienced a decline of 36.1%, dropping from 194 units to 124 units year-on-year.

Volvo trucks and buses added 129 units to the overall tally, a slight increase of 4.9% compared to the 123 units sold in April 2024.

Overall, these figures reflect a strong start to FY2025-26 for eicher Motors, driven by robust domestic demand across segments and improved export performance, especially in the LMD category.
