
India's leading two-wheeler companies that Hero MotoCorp and Bajaj Auto, declared their April sales data, in which Hero Moto's sales were down more than 40% as compared to last year's April 2024 and Bajaj Auto's sales were down by over 6% as compared to April 2024 last year.
Hero Motocorp April sales data
In April 2025, a two-wheeler giant sold 305406 units, and this is down by more than 40% as compared to last year's April. In April 2024, Hero Motocorp sold 533585 units. In April 2025, Hero Motocorp sold 286089 units of motorcycles, while it sold 19,317 units of scooters, and exports of Hero Motocorp went down to 16,884 units from 20,289 units in April 2024
Despite these weak sales, Hero Motocorp launches 4 new models, the Xoom 100, Hunk 160R 4V, Xtreme 125R, and HF Deluxe in Sri Lanka with partners Abans Auto.
Vida, the company's electric two-wheeler brand, sustained its growth momentum in April 2025. Hero Motocorp dispatched 7,116 units of Vida V2
Following this announcement, shares of Hero Motocorp are down 2% and trading at Rs 3750 on NSE
Bajaj Auto April sales data
In April two two-wheeler giant Bajaj Auto sold 3,65,810 units, which this down by 6% as compared to April 2024. In April 2024, Bajaj Auto sold 3,88,256 units. In April 2025 company sold 3,17,937 units of two-wheelers and 47,837 units of commercial vehicles, and two-wheelers sales were down 7% and commercial vehicles up 3% as compared to the same month last year.
Bajaj Auto's two-wheeler exports are up by 4%, and commercial vehicle exports are up by 11% YOY.
Bajaj Auto faces challenges in domestic markets while it gaining momentum in international markets. This is the third consecutive month where Bajaj Auto sales in the domestic market are down.
Following this announcement, shares of Bajaj Auto are trading 2% lower at Rs 7,851, and the stock is among the top losers of the Nifty. Bajaj Auto shares are down more than 35% from their all-time high due to challenges in the domestic markets.
Both Bajaj Auto and Hero MotoCorp declared weak April sales data. Now all eyes are on companies' Q4 results and management commentary for upcoming quarters
