Mahindra's Power-Packed February 2025: SUV Sales Soar 19%, Tractor Sales Surge 19%!

Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M Ltd.), one of India’s leading automobile and farm equipment manufacturers, has announced robust sales figures for February 2025.

The company recorded total vehicle sales of 83,702 units, marking a 15% year-on-year growth, including exports.

SUV Segment Drives Growth

Mahindra’s utility vehicle (UV) segment led the charge, with 50,420 SUVs sold in the domestic market, reflecting a 19% increase over February 2024. Including exports, total UV sales stood at 52,386 units.

Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division at M&M Ltd., credited the strong demand for Mahindra’s SUV portfolio, stating:

“In February, we clocked SUV sales of 50,420, a growth of 19%, and 83,702 total vehicles, a growth of 15%. This strong performance is a result of continued positive momentum for our SUV portfolio.”

Commercial Vehicles and Three-Wheelers Performance

LCVs (Light Commercial Vehicles) under 2T saw a 21% decline, with sales dropping to 3,290 units.

LCVs between 2T-3.5T grew 9%, reaching 19,155 units.

LCVs above 3.5T & M&HCVs posted a 23% increase, with 1,381 units sold.

Three-wheelers (3W) grew by 4%, reaching 6,395 units.

Exports Nearly Double

Mahindra’s exports surged 99%, with 3,061 units shipped in February 2025 compared to 1,539 units in February 2024.

Mahindra Farm Equipment Sector Sees 19% Growth in Domestic Tractor Sales

Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) also delivered strong results, selling 23,880 tractors in February 2025, a 19% increase compared to 20,121 units in February 2024.

Total tractor sales (Domestic + Exports) reached 25,527 units, an 18% increase from the 21,672 units sold in February 2024.

Hemant Sikka, President – Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., highlighted the positive agricultural outlook, stating:

“We have sold 23,880 tractors in the domestic market during February 2025, a growth of 19% over last year. After a good Kharif crop, Rabi crop outlook is also looking positive due to favorable weather conditions. Increase in Agri credit limit, continued Government support to increase farmer incomes, and a bumper Rabi harvest will help boost tractor demand going forward. In the exports market, we have sold 1,647 tractors, at a growth of 6% over last year.”

Year-to-Date (YTD) Performance

For the period April 2024 – February 2025:

Passenger vehicle sales stood at 5,03,439 units, reflecting a 20% growth.

Farm Equipment sales totaled 3,89,707 units, growing 11%.

Exports for the farm sector increased 25%, reaching 15,195 units.
