President Trump Says Putin Easier to Work With Than Zelensky – Sparks Global Reaction

President Donald Trump sparked a fresh wave of global attention today after stating that Russian President Vladimir Putin is “easier to deal with” than Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky. The statement came during an impromptu press conference at the White House, where Trump addressed a range of international issues, including the ongoing war in Ukraine.

"People might not like to hear it, but Putin is very straightforward. You know where he stands," Trump said. “Zelensky is much more difficult — he demands a lot, he doesn’t budge, and it’s always about asking for more.”

The remark has triggered both domestic and international reactions, with critics accusing Trump of undercutting America’s support for Ukraine at a critical time. Supporters, however, say the President is offering a realist's take on the challenges of global diplomacy.

Zelensky has not yet responded publicly to the comment, though Ukrainian officials have indicated continued hope for bipartisan support from the U.S., regardless of tone from the top.

This is not the first time Trump’s approach to Russia has drawn attention. His administration has faced ongoing scrutiny over its positioning in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, with allies praising his tough stance on NATO burden-sharing and detractors warning of a softening toward authoritarian regimes.

As global tensions persist, the President’s words continue to resonate — both in the halls of power and among international allies.
