In a significant escalation in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) have confirmed the elimination of Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa, one of the founding members of the Hamas terrorist organization. Al-Issa served as the Head of the Combat Support and Administrative Headquarters of Hamas and was considered a key strategic leader within the organization.

According to the IDF, Al-Issa was a crucial figure in Hamas’ military infrastructure and a key source of knowledge, being among the last remaining senior Hamas terrorists operating in the Gaza Strip. He had previously led Hamas' force-building efforts in Gaza and was instrumental in shaping the group’s military strategy. 

He also played a foundational role in establishing the Hamas military wing and served as the Head of the Training Headquarters, where he oversaw the training and preparation of militants.

Most notably, Al-Issa played a major role in planning and executing the October 7th massacre, an event that deeply shook Israel and resulted in numerous civilian casualties. As the Head of Combat Support, he was responsible for advancing Hamas’ aerial and naval attack strategies, posing a persistent threat to Israeli security. 

Even during the ongoing conflict, he was reportedly working to rebuild Hamas’ organizational systems that had been damaged by Israeli strikes.

The IDF’s official statement described him as a key operational leader who had contributed significantly to Hamas’ combat capabilities. The military emphasized that this elimination is part of a broader mission to neutralize all individuals involved in the October 7th massacre. The IDF stated:

“ELIMINATED: Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa—one of the founders of Hamas’ military wing. Issa led Hamas’ force build-up, training, and planned the October 7 massacre. As Head of Combat Support, he advanced aerial & naval attacks against Israelis. The IDF & ISA will continue to locate and eliminate all terrorists involved in the October 7 massacre.”

The targeted killing of Hakham Muhammad Issa Al-Issa is a significant blow to Hamas' senior leadership and operational command structure. His removal is expected to disrupt the group’s chain of command, weaken its training systems, and impair its ability to carry out large-scale attacks. It also sends a strong signal that Israel remains committed to pursuing justice for the victims of the October 7th attack and will continue its operations to dismantle the terrorist infrastructure in Gaza.
