Ceasefire in Name Only:Pakistan Launches Attacks Across Indian Border Regions

In a shocking turn of events, what was supposed to be a day of hope and restraint has instead turned into a night of fear and aggression. Just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump brokered a ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, the fragile peace has shattered across the Line of Control and several states in northern India.

According to a senior Indian government official, there have been blatant ceasefire violations along the Line of Control. The skies over Srinagar, Rajasthan, and Punjab have been reportedly swarmed with drones originating from Pakistan. In Srinagar, chaos broke out as air defence units fired at incoming aerial threats, leading to widespread panic.

Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, took to social media to express his outrage. “What the hell just happened to the ceasefire?” he tweeted, confirming that explosions were heard across Srinagar, followed by a complete blackout in the region.

Other states haven’t been spared either. Kutch in Gujarat reported air raid sirens and an abrupt power outage, signaling potential incoming threats. Similar reports of blackouts have emerged from Rajasthan, Jaisalmer, and Punjab’s Pathankot, Bathinda, Jalandhar, and Amritsar. Local residents in these regions have reported not just blackouts but also suspected drone and missile attacks. Jammu and Kashmir continues to be under heavy assault, with confirmed missile strikes and an ongoing blackout.

This new wave of aggression is reportedly worse than the previous day’s hostilities, with Indian officials accusing Pakistan of violating the bilateral understanding reached just this past Saturday. The scale and coordination of these attacks suggest a deliberate attempt to undermine the ceasefire deal, raising serious questions about Islamabad’s intentions and commitment to peace.

The sudden escalation has put India's defence forces on high alert, with emergency protocols being activated across sensitive zones. The Indian government is expected to issue a formal response soon, and an emergency meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security may be convened.
