FIIs, DIIs, and Promoters Decreased Stake but Public Kept Buying in Suzlon Energy In Q2FY26

Suzlon Energy Ltd, one of India’s leading renewable energy companies, has witnessed notable changes in its shareholding pattern between June 2025 and September 2025, even as the stock continues to face pressure in the market.

According to the latest data, promoter holding in Suzlon stood at 11.75% in June 2025 and slightly decreased to 11.73% in September 2025. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) also reduced their stake from 23.02% to 22.70% during the same period, indicating mild profit booking or cautious sentiment among global investors.

Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) maintained a largely stable position, with their holding marginally declining from 10.17% in June to 10.14% in September 2025. Meanwhile, public shareholding increased slightly from 55.07% to 55.40%, showing sustained retail investor interest despite the recent market downturn.

The total number of public shareholders rose from 56,04,610 in June 2025 to 56,36,240 in September 2025, suggesting that small investors continue to accumulate Suzlon shares at lower levels.

However, despite the growing retail participation, Suzlon Energy’s stock has delivered a negative 25% return over the last six months. The stock remains nearly 86% below its all-time high, reflecting persistent challenges such as margin pressure, muted order inflows, and cautious investor sentiment in the renewable energy segment.

Analysts believe that while Suzlon has made progress in debt reduction and operational efficiency over the past few years, the recent price correction indicates that investors are still awaiting stronger financial performance and improved earnings visibility before turning optimistic again.
